The Big Sing

Well done to our Midlands Choirs!

What a great workshop and performance for Helping Hands last week

WOW! We had a great experience that we have to tell you all about!

Last Wednesday we went to join this amazing charity called ‘Helping Hands’. They primarily are there the help the homeless and give people a hand up in life and run a group for vulnerable women every week called the Esther Group. The women who come suffer from domestic violence, drug addictions, mental health issues to name a few, and join the group for support and a hot meal. We went along to try and get them singing! Massive thanks to those who could join Gemma for this. They loved listening to our uplifting songs and then we broke the ice with a bit of ‘One Love’ before getting them all singing their hearts out to ‘Something Inside So Strong’ – what a moment! We were crying, the girls were crying and we were all united with music. AMAZING!

We then joined the charity on Friday night to sing at their annual Sleep Out event where volunteers are sponsored to sleep outside – raising awareness and money for the homeless. This again was a great event to sing at as we could encourage the brave volunteers before they bedded down for the night outside. Two of the ladies from the Esther group came along and joined us to sing too – was lovely to have them with us.

On lady in particular really touched us all. She came to the Wednesday group and was very distant, sat at the side and didn’t want to join in. As we sang ‘Something Inside So Strong’ she had tears. She came along on Friday night really eager to sing with us and told us that on the Wednesday she was feeling suicidal, but our music really uplifted her and changed her mood. So much so that she wanted to be a part of us again. What an amazing way that music can influence and bring a positive change. We are honoured to have been a small part in that.

We want to say how proud we are of all of you who came to sing. Thank you so much for making an massive impact on these ladies who often don’t have positive things going on. It’s so amazing to see our music touching the lives of others. Not only uplifting us, but also those we sing to. This is what our Charity is all about – taking our music to those who need it even more than we do. Thank you all for helping us do that.

Even if you couldn’t be there to sing with us – we thank every one of you who help us raise money for SOUL so we can make these magic moments happen and make a difference.

Thank You!
